What is Virtual Loup-De-Mer?
It's a web-based real-time Sailboat-routing simulation. It uses real weather data (data for wind strength and direction updated every 3 hours - GMT 0h30, 3h30...+ 3 minutes). Wind is interpolated from H to H+3 taking attention of the time now between H and to H+3 and of boats position within a 1° square. Winds are the same as in UGRIB (http://grib.us), and have are this time 35 minutes later than in Ugrib. Boat polar charts are similar to real boats, boat speed and direction are updated every 10 minutes (or 5 if less than 50 boats racing). Races will be organised frequently.
